Adam here 👋 Product Manager for ChatSpot.
This will be our last post on ChatSpot.ai 🥲 Goodbyes are always hard. Thankfully, this isn’t a goodbye but a new beginning for ChatSpot in a new home, right inside HubSpot.
Here is a summary of the updates I want to share:
- ChatSpot is graduating to become a full HubSpot feature and will be accessible from anywhere inside your CRM
- We will be retiring the ChatSpot.ai site
- This blog will live on as part of HubSpot's Innovation Lab, our new home for AI innovation, tools, and experiments → If you want to keep up with these sorts of AI experiments from HubSpot, you can subscribe to the HubSpot Lab list to learn about our latest projects.
What’s changing?
Over the last few weeks, you might have noticed a new button appear at the top of your HubSpot:
ChatSpot now lives right alongside where you work, helping you to manage CRM data, prepare for meetings, refine content, and so much more.
We’re also making some other changes to how you access ChatSpot.
HubSpot account now required to use ChatSpot
Previously, users were able to use ChatSpot without a full HubSpot account. Starting today, all ChatSpot users will need to create a HubSpot account or attach an existing HubSpot account in order to continue using ChatSpot. You’ll be prompted to do this next time you log into ChatSpot.
Prompt limits are being sunset
Starting next week (September 9), we will be removing prompt limits, which allows admins to restrict access to certain prompt templates in ChatSpot.
We’re making this change to better align with how settings and permissions are managed in HubSpot. Users who had previously set prompt limits will see ChatSpot disabled in their HubSpot beginning next week. You can re-enable ChatSpot without prompt limits by going to manage ChatSpot access in your HubSpot settings. See Manage ChatSpot access to your HubSpot account for more details.
New ChatSpot permissions
In place of prompt limits, we’re adding a new user permission for ChatSpot that will allow admins to restrict access to ChatSpot per user or user group. Starting next week (September 9), you will find this new permission when editing Settings access for users and groups. See HubSpot user permissions guide for more details.
